Responsible Business
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Rezidor Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. The hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and the corporate international charity organisation supported by the Rezidor Hotel Group, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

Customers - Increase Customer RB Awareness
- RB Campaign started as of 1 September 2005, regarding the HEAM 2005 and the RB activities of Rezidor Hotel Group [Key wallet inserts about the RB programme distributed to every guest upon check-in, posters with five different RB messages displayed in public areas and staff back areas, postcards with RB messages available at reception, CD with RB animation was connected to the hotel information channel in all guest rooms].
- "From Children to Children" day for children of employees to run the hotel for a day, hosting various events for children from neighbouring schools. All children were able to write a wish for a better world on a paper slip and attach it to environmental balloons. At 15:00 all Radisson Blu and Park Inn hotels in Norway let the balloons loose to spread the messages. The hotel collected enough money to build a farm in Uganda for children-managed families who lost their parents in civil wars and AIDS epidemics.
November 2005
After the catastrophic earthquake in South East Asia, a lottery was arranged for all employees. Suppliers assisted in donating great prizes, such as an LCD television, porcelain coffee set, gift certificates for complimentary hotel stay and more. Within the week, the hotel collected 17.000 NOK to donate to Save the Children relief actions.

The hotel has conducted four training sessions regarding the RB programme to achieve the target of having 100% staff with RB training.
Foster a Responsible Working Environment
A team of representatives from all departments assure the follow-up and implementation of RB throughout the hotel.
