Responsible Business
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of Rezidor's broader commitment to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. Our hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and Rezidor's corporate international charity organisation, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

September 2005
Customers - Increase Customer RB Awareness
- RB campaign was started as of September 01st regarding the HEAM 2005 and the RB activities of Rezidor SAS Group [Key wallet inserts about the RB programme distributed to every guest upon his check-in, Posters with 5 different RB messages hanged in public areas and staff back areas, postcards with RB messages available at the Reception, CD with RB animation was connected to the hotel info channel in all guest rooms].
- We arranged a "From Children To Children" day were children of employees ran the hotel for a day hosting different events for children from neighbouring schools. All children got to write their wish for a better world on a paperslip, attached it to environmental balloons and at 3 pm all Radisson SAS and Park Inn hotels in Norway let the balloons loose to spread our messages. We managed to collect enough money to build a farm in Uganda for Children managed families who lost their parents in civil wars and Aids epidemics.
November 2005
After the catastrophic earthquake in South East Asia, a lottery was arranged for all employees. Suppliers assisted us in great prizes such as LCD TV, Porcellan coffee set, Gift Certificates for Hotel Stay and far more. Within the week we managed to collect NOK 17.000 we could donate to Save The Childrens relief Actions.
Employees - Increase Employee RB Awareness
We have conducted four training sessions regarding the RB program of Radisson SAS to achieve the target of having 100% staff with RB training [48 employees has attended so far].
Foster A Responsible Working Environment
As from 2006 there will be a team representing all departments who will look into and assure the follow up and implementation of RB throughout the hotel.
Swan Label
Starting in January, the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel will start the process to be Eco labelled with the Swan.
